I recently designed this poster commissioned for Murder By Death‘s final show at Metro, Chicago. I had been on vacation from making show posters for about a year, and thought it would be fun to make some again. Not only did I get to “poster up” a band that I like a lot, but I got an edition of trick posters out of it as well. I’m really happy with the final product here, silkscreened by Steve Walters at Screwball Press. I think he did an impecable job!
If you attended the show and didn’t pick one of these up, I have a small quantity that are now available in our poster store - order this week and get a free bonus print! While supplies last, of course. And if you’re interested in seeing some photos from the show, check out our photog Helen Lysen’s site for some shots she took at Metro Saturday night. Hope you enjoy the poster! Check back soon, there’s another one in the works…
Cheers, Jim

Last weekend I got something exciting in the mail, for a change! There are some show posters that I made in 2010 and 2011, which are featured in the Punk section of Martin Dawber’s new Modern Vintage Illustration book…and what an honor! This book is jammed with incredible artwork and illustration, so I am very humbled to have a part in it. You can see some of my work for Cobra Skulls, ONO, Tobacco and Yakuza, featured on the pages shown below.
The book is available on Amazon and Anova Books (UK). Go get yourself a copy! Whether you’re looking for visual inspiration or just a colorful book for your coffee table, you will not be disappointed. Cheers, Jim
